Silouan Green - The Gallows
A song I wrote when I was staring into the abyss of post traumatic stress disorder. If you've been in that whole, you know what it is like to be staring at The Gallows
What is PTSD?
Few things in our culture are as misunderstood as PTSD. Here is a short explanation from someone who has been there, escaped the demons, and now helps others do the same.
PTSD is Life
Some powerful stories and a song about PTSD on how we all get broken. When you understand that PTSD is life and anyone can be broken, you begin to allow yourself to overcome the stigma and shame you feel. You shouldn't feel that way, you are not alone. You can get better and live an amazing life. This was recorded in Atlanta, GA by students from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Love is Real
Love is Real - a musical and photo journey by Silouan Green. After being disability discharged from the US Marines with severe PTSD and other complications due to a tragic jet crash, he took off on an epic two-year motorcycle journey. On the way he escaped his demons and found peace, joy, and love. Love is Real. Believe it.
Silouan Green - Overcoming Adversity
A lecture I recorded for the University of California - Riverside BUS 156 Leadership Development class. I think you will find it riveting. We can use the adversities of life as fuel to live with deep passion and purpose. Whatever has broken you, you can rise up and make a difference. In this lecture I talk about overcoming physical, mental, and professional hurdles in my life and how others inspired me to do so. And as leaders, our job is to inspire others to rise above the adversities of life to move us all forward.
Silouan Green - The American Blues - Redux
I wrote this song after learning about the death of a young Marine I'd met, as well as reminiscing on my own service. This is for all those who serve, have served, and the families back home.
I think anyone will understand what it means to have "The American Blues".
Recorded at Primary Sound Studios in Bloomington, Indiana.
