This is love
True love is real! My wife and I have a blessed relationship that has resulted in 16 years of marriage and eight beautiful, wonderful, joy filled children. (Yes, you read that right, 8!) People often ask me, how do you find true love, or how do you find your soul mate? My answer is always the same:
Become the person you were meant to be and you will find the person you were meant to be with.
This is the mantra I followed that led to meeting my wife in the midst of an epic two-year motorcycle journey. True love is real folks!
Unfortunately, it is too easy to see love as something we must have to complete ourselves. It’s as if something in our life is missing and “love” will complete it. This usually just leads to unrealistic expectations and a false understanding of love. Love is what we give, love is not what we take.

When you have lived a mindful life and are living according to a clear purpose and passion, not only do you feel whole but your nature is to give. This is when you’ll be sure of meeting your soul mate if you haven’t already. They’ll make you better, you’ll see the world more clearly, you’ll be filled with love and the desire to give more. This ability to give will not only make you a better lover, but it will make you a better parent, a better person, you name it. You’ll feel like you are home.
The path to love begins by looking in the mirror. What are you living for? What is your passion? Are you becoming the person you were meant to be? If so, you’ll find love. And you might be surprised where you end up. Some of my best friends are monks who are married to prayer, and are among the most joyful loving people I know!
